I do love Christmas! Carols! Turkey! Presents etc and so do my Plumeria, as somehow they just seem to know that there are only 3 more months till spring. But, for now I keep them very happy with some extra heat, light and feed, all of which can be found in our Essential Supplies Catalogue. So, why not take a look and treat your own Plumeria as well. Go on, it's Christmas! |
|
By now I'm sure many of your Plumeria are tucked up warmly in their pots, rejuvenating themselves for next spring. So please don't forget them, especially if they're out of sight. Check their general condition every few weeks and if their soil looks dry, break up the soil surface and give them a half cup of water with a few added drops of SuperThrive, as this will keep their roots fresh and stop them drying out completely. Likewise remove any dead leaves from the stem or in the pot, as this will only encourage unwanted pests. Remember whilst dormant, Plumeria are very similar to a tree in winter. Seemingly dead from the outside, yet inside full of life, just waiting to burst forth into those first rays of spring sunshine |
Off course if your Plumeria is still awake, then there are still some great spells of sunshine about and if you can get your Plumeria into these it will absolutely love it. A few hours on a sunny windowsill with a quick spray of our Leafdew Plumeria Mist, will get it buzzing nicely and really help to give it a kick start for next year. Don't be afraid to pick up the pot and move it around your home following the sunshine. Just make a note of the best spots and ensure you make use of them whenever you can. But, if you are going out and may not be back till late, don't leave your Plumeria on a windowsill as your sunny spot will soon become an 'Artic Wasteland' after dark, which will undo all your good work an cause irepairable damage |
Now if sunshine is rather scarce in your part of the world, then as mentioned earlier you can always make some of your own! Our Natural Daylight Bulbs and Plumeria Warmers are excellent at providing this and can allow your Plumeria to keep growing steadily and safely throughout these cold months, giving it a real headstart for Spring and increasing the chances of early blooms. Just take a look in our Essential Supplies Catalogue and you'll see exactly what I mean |
If your Plumeria is growing strongly then now is the perfect time to start gradually loading it up with phosphates in preparation for the spring. Our Hawaiian Super Bloomer is ideal for this and if used in combination with our Leafdew Plumeria Mist. and SuperThrive, can really get your Plumeria up there into top gear. Real enthusiasts should also consider investing in one of our Water, Soil and Daylight Analysers, as these allow you to keep a really close eye on these other key areas, allowing you to make those additional minor adjustments in your Plumerias environment that can make all the difference |
